Firefly is a juvenile red-eared slider turtle.  She was surrendered by her previous owner because she was "unwanted".  She is still shy and enjoys hiding under her log but is slowly getting more comfortable with people.
Red-eared sliders need large aquatic setups with good filtration, and are not typically friendly to handle.  However, many hobbyists enjoy this species because they are enjoyable and relaxing to feed and watch as they swim about.
